I am pleased to update our Blog with news that our Wellington team are supporting a local registered charity in New Zealand called ‘Blue Dragon Children’s Trust’, whose purpose is to provide exceptional care to Vietnamese children and families in crisis creating long-term change for a better world.

Kennards Self Storage Wellington have donated the use of a storage unit for the numerous donations of books from the generous community across the greater Wellington region. Since our Wellington site is situated at the CBD end of Hutt Road, it provides a great meeting point that is easily found and is a safe place for anyone to visit. To make it easy, the delivery of books is directed to our Parcel Pick Up and Drop area and then the volunteers come by regularly to put them in the storage unit.

The Trust then utilises the unit to start the big job of sorting through all of the books and then prepares them all for the upcoming book fair. This is performed by a group of volunteers from across the Wellington region and it is amazing over the length of a month, just how many books they collect in that time.

Held annually, the region has a significant book fair event at Wellington College which has achieved fund raising exceeding $13,000. This enables the Trust to support at least 30 children to go to school with a good uniform, equipment and also ensures the children have a daily school lunch.

Education is key for the next generation to have the best start in life, regardless of their background or wealth as this provides the foundation for life and having a successful community. The Wellington team at Kennards Self Storage are proud to be involved in this event and support the Blue Dragon Children’s Trust.
