Will The Bubble Burst?

June 09, 2021 by Andrew Kirkham

Just when we thought Aussies were paying too much for our housing, what about the Kiwi’s. “New Zealand’s property prices are so cooked, Kiwis want to move to Australia for cheap housing” says Kate Burke from domain.com.au.

The pandemic does not appear to have any affect on housing prices in Auckland. Experts say the  rise in the median housing prices has resulted in Kiwis selling up in Auckland and relocating across the ditch to Australia.

In Auckland, the median now sits at $1,198,564, after climbing 13.3 per cent over the year, well above the median values in Sydney and Melbourne, at $895,933 and $717,767.

All three cities are among the 10 least-affordable cities in the world, according to the 2021 Demographic International Housing Affordability Survey, released this week, which assessed 92 major metropolitan markets in eight countries.  Hong Kong and Vancouver took out the top two spots, with Sydney ranking third, and Auckland and Melbourne coming in fourth and sixth.

Ongoing shortages in supply and low interests rates has pushed housing prices in Auckland way into double digit growth. Savvy vendors are taking advantage of this once in a life time opportunity to sell their homes at record prices.

This mad frenzy in the market can also be quite stressful when arranging the sale of your home, looking to purchase a new place, relocating to another country or location, decluttering the home in preparation for sale.
Many vendors are turning to storage operators to store their furniture and goods as they navigate the sale of their homes.

Kennards Self Storage has been established in New Zealand for over 25 years. With nine locations across the North Island of New Zealand, you are bound to spot the iconic blue and orange buildings in your travels.
The Auckland region is home to three storage locations. The well established Mt Eden and Three Kings locations have served the residents in the area for many years.

The timing of their latest location on 125 Wairau Road, Wairau Valley, Auckland has been perfect for vendors preparing their homes for sale. The state of the art purpose built storage facility is growing in popularity as vendors declutter their homes in preparation for sale or even storing the entire contents of their home as they go house hunting across the ditch.

With individually alarmed storage units, PIN code access, CCTV monitoring, 24/7 access and much more, customers have peace of mind when they store their belongings at the facility.
